The body is doing the action, body’s spare-parts are doing the action and the egoism simply does the egoism of, ‘I did’! Subtle-pride of egoism is created from this doer-ship and one is living due entirely on this basis. He simply tastes the subtle-pride of doer-ship; ‘I did’, ‘I suffered this pain’, ‘I enjoyed that happiness’. The person who gets rid of this subtle-pride will get freedom. Why does one taste this sweetness of subtle-pride of doership from infinite lives? He does this because he has never before tasted the sweetness of the Soul. . Dada Bhagwan
About This Quote

This quote comes from the book "The Yoke of Yoga". It's a very profound statement about the ego, pride, and letting go of what one thinks they are due to another. The following are quotes from this book. "To get rid of the stiffness of egoism, one must become aware of it. Oneness is not seen by the eyes, but only by the mind.

When the mind is separate from the body, it can see oneness." "The problem of ego is not solved by only letting go desires. It is solved only by getting rid of that which one thinks he is due to another." "The feeling that I am deserving or that I am not deserving can be dissolved but not by just letting go of desires for benefits." "It is only when all desires are subdued that one will have real freedom." "He who has let go all desires will find his Soul in every seed and blade of grass. He who has let go all desires will find his Soul in every motion and motionless state." "How can one have freedom if he has some desire for something more?" "If there is something more to be obtained, it means there is something more to be lost; therefore, what is lost will also be sought after; therefore, it becomes impossible to be free from desires." "The soul becomes free only when it attains the state where there is no thought about what might happen next or what might be lost or gained." I hope you enjoyed these quotes!
